Meet John Watson
Dr. John Watson is a retired army doctor and the loyal friend and flatmate of Sherlock Holmes. With steady common sense and a warm, observant voice, he records the cases they encounter and introduces Holmes's methods to the reader.

A sturdy, good-natured man of early middle age, a former army surgeon of medium build, with a square honest face, short wavy chestnut-brown hair, warm brown eyes and a modest brown moustache; fair, faintly ruddy skin. Dressed as a respectable physician in a green-brown tweed jacket over a chestnut waistcoat with a watch-chain, a white shirt and a dark tie.
