Meet St. John Rivers
St. John Rivers is an austere, ambitious clergyman who lives near Moor House and serves as a caring but demanding cousin to Jane Eyre. When Jane comes to him in need, he offers her shelter while pursuing his plans for missionary work and urging her to join him as his wife.
