Meet Uncle Silas
Uncle Silas Phelps is Aunt Sally’s mild, absent-minded husband, a farmer who also preaches part-time. At the story’s outset, he is living on the family farm and unknowingly keeping Jim, who has been captured and brought to the Phelps place.
