Meet Semyon Zaharovitch Marmeladov
Semyon Zaharovitch Marmeladov is an impoverished former titular counsellor whose drinking has ruined his prospects. He is Sonia’s father and Katerina Ivanovna’s husband, and when he meets Raskolnikov in a tavern, he pours out a painful confession about his life and family.
