Inside the story
Meet Charles Darnay
Charles Darnay is a French émigré and the nephew of the Marquis St. Evrémonde, a family connection he rejects along with his aristocratic name. Living honestly in England as a tutor, he is drawn into a treason trial at the Old Bailey.
